The Myth Called GOD... - Part 3

Why is God the first one to be discussed? Even before we learn a language, we learn about our religion. In any problem we remember Him the first. Oh my GOD! How true!

I was wondering how Lord Shankar is related to humans. A person who can leave his family, and go to the Himalayas in extreme cold explains his ability of detachment and determination. The constant flowing Ganga River from his hair shows his desire to fulfill the thirsts of the body and the mind. The moon depicts the cool feeling he wants to deliver. The third eye shows how dangerous he can be in retaliation. The blue throat signifies control on poisonous rumours; neither takes in nor spills out. Coolest attitude with poisonous snakes (dangerous situations).

Ganesha can take any form, as He represents the ideal modern human. Power and coolness of an elephant’s head. Large always listening ears. Small less talking mouth. Concentrated eyes. Big satiated belly. Lotus arising from the mud (as shown in ‘Slumdog Millionaire’). Wepon to defend. Sarasvati (Goddess of wisdom) as wife. Capacity to turn useless things into modern vehicles (example – his vehicle, the mouse).

I tried to relate Ganesh Utsav to Human life. The idol of Ganesha is worthless before its location in the temporary temple. It is called ‘Pranpratishtha’ (Entry of life). Then for ten days we enjoy Ganesh festival. We become social, artistic and enjoy life with togetherness. On termination day, the idol is moved out, as its life is over. As life has gone out, the idol has no value. We should understand that destruction of this idol should not be a sad event. It is necessary so that new cycle has to repeat next year. New will come, when the old will go. This is the natural life cycle. Recycling is the rule of life. This is to explain the proper use of our body during the festival of life. As life ends, the affinity for the body must dissolve. We must accept the facts of birth and death enjoy the festival of life and should have no affinity for the temporary body.

Is Lord Ganesha God, or a Godly creation to teach us Godly values of life? Do we have 33 crore Gods, so that we can choose one of our liking? I heard a joke. A Muslim, a Christian and a Hindu were travelling together. It was a crisis scene. Muslim called Allah, He saved him. Christian called God , He saved him. Hindu called all 33 crores, but one God thought that other will go; and this confusion killed him. There was another joke. A Hindu was travelling by a boat in a river. The boat met with an accident. As he was drowning, he Called Lord Ganesha for rescue. Lord came, and started dancing, instead of saving him. The man asked Lord, why so. Lord replied, you enjoy and dance while drowning me every year, I got a chance now.

Does God exist? If yes, where is He/She? Is it really necessary to find God for finding peace?
